At least two people were on Saturday killed and five others injured in a blast in an industrial furnace in Sirhind town, around 45 km from here, police said.
The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Police officials reached the spot to carry out the rescue operation and investigate the cause of the blast.
