BJP leader L.K. Advani Friday expressed disappointment at party president Rajnath Singh's style of functioning, even as the the party's parliamentary board decided to name Narendra Modi as its prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 general elections.

In a letter to Rajnath Singh, Advani said he had conveyed his anguish during their meeting Friday.

"When you came today (Friday) afternoon to inform me about the parliamentary board meeting, I had told you something about anguish in my heart and my disappointment on your way of working," Advani said.

"I had told you then that I will consider whether to come to the parliamentary board and convey my feelings to the members or not. I have now decided that not coming to the meeting will be appropriate," Advani said in his brief letter.

Advani had raised concerns about working of the party soon after Rajnath Singh had in June announced Modi's appointment as chief of campaign committee for the 2014 general elections.
