A 70-year-old woman died here Thursday after being trapped in a lift that got stuck between two floors of an apartment block, police said.
Satya Gupta was unconscious by the time the fire brigade rescued her from the lift after noon at Abhimanyu Apartments in New Ashok Nagar in east Delhi.
She was declared dead at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital. Police have filed a case of negligence against the housing society.
The elderly woman lived with her family in the apartment block.
