Thirty-four-year-old Croatian veteran Mirjana Lucic-Baroni reached the women's singles quarter-finals of the Australia Open tennis turnament defeating American Jennifer Brady 6-4, 6-2 here on Monday.
Lucic-Baroni, World No.79, has not reached this round in a Grand Slam championship since Wimbledon in 1999, when she got through to the semi-finals, reports Efe.
The Croatian is the only non-seeded player to play in the quarter-finals.
She will now face fifth seed Czech Karolina Pliskova who beat Australian Daria Gavrilova 6-3, 6-3 on Monday.
