The unit of Terai Tea Co (TTC) here in West Bengal will resume its operations from Dec 26 following a meeting between the company's management and a labour union Wednesday.

The tea worker's union had opted for strike two weeks ago over issues related to pay during the winter harvest.

"There were some issued related to the winter harvest from the tea-workers following which the management had issued the suspension of work notice," Trinamool Congress led tea-worker's union leader of Darjelling district Alok Chakraborty told IANS.

In the past two weeks, three meetings were held to amicably solve the issue.

The total area under Bagdogra plantation is 614.86 acres and produces 30 lakh kg of tea annually.

The Bagdogra plantation was the flagship garden of TTC when it was incorporated in 1973.
