The North Goa district administration on Monday extended by 60 days the ban on the entry of Mangalore-based Hindu outfit Sri Rama Sene chief Pramod Muthalik and others.

"The District Magistrate (North) has ordered that the ban on entry of Muthalik or of any of his associates/members in North Goa district be extended for another 60 days under Section 144(1) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973," an order issued by the North Goa Collectorate states.

Muthalik's entry to the district has been banned since 2014 after he said that he proposed to set up a branch of Karnataka-based Sene in the coastal state and work towards banning nightlife and pubs in tourism-oriented state since these allegedly aped Western culture.

Muthalik's Sene first hit infamy after its members vandalised a pub in Karnataka's Mangaluru in 2009 and assaulted young men and women, claiming they were blindly aping western culture.
