BJP holds silent protest against Mamata government

The BJP held a silent protest here on Wednesday against the Mamata Banerjee-led government in wake of violence during Amit Shah's roadshow in which saw a bust of Bengali polymath Chandra being destroyed.

Union Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman, Harsh Vardhan, and participated at the protest at the area along with party workers, who sported black bands on their arms and held up placards reading 'Save Bengal, Save Democracy'.

Clashes broke out between members of the students' union and BJP supporters who participated in Shah's roadshow in north on Tuesday evening, following which the College was vandalised and the bust destroyed.
