Brazil's Fred joins Shakhtar for 5 years

Young midfielder from Brazilian Internacional football club Fred signed a five-year contract with Ukrainian football club Shakhtar Donetsk Wednesday.

The Ukrainian champions paid 15 million euros to the Porto Alegre-based club for the 20-year-old, reports Xinhua.

In one year of professional football, Fred scored eight goals in 50 appearances for Internacional. He will be the 11th player from Brazil in the Ukrainian club's squad alongside Luiz Adriano, Maicon, Douglas Costa, Taison, Patrick Alan, Alex Teixeira, Ismaily, Ilsinho, Fernando and Wellington Nem.
