David Bolam, a British teacher, has been released by militants in Libya after being held hostage since May, BBC reported Sunday. His kidnapping had not been reported at the request of the Foreign Office and his family.
Bolam, 63, who taught at the now-closed International School Benghazi, was "safe and well" and had been reunited with his family, the Foreign Office said.
It is thought Bolam's release was secured by local political factions after money changed hands, the report added.
