BSF recovers heroin in Punjab

Border Security Force (BSF) troopers on Monday recovered around five kg of heroin from Punjab's Amritsar sector, an official said.
"Based on a specific information, a special search operation was carried out by BSF troopers. Four bottles (1.5 litres each) were recovered with the heroin inside them from fields ahead of the border security fence," BSF Deputy Inspector General (DIG) R.S. Kataria said.
The heroin is worth Rs 25 crore in the international market.
Punjab shares a 553-km long barbed-wire fenced international border with Pakistan.
