CBI raids in Odisha, Tamil Nadu in chit fund scam

The CBI on Monday raided eight places in Odisha and Tamil Nadu in connection with its ongoing investigation into a multi-crore-rupee chit fund scam.

The raids were conducted at four places each in the states following a chit fund case registered against a private company Rightmax Technotrade International Limited, a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) official said.

The official said separate teams of CBI sleuths raided the offices and residences of Rabindranath Jena, V. Lakhanaya and R. Venkatraman -- all having links with the Rightmax company.
