An international walking festival will be held on December 26 in Xiamen city in China's Fujian province, organisers announced on Thursday.
China's freestyle skiing world champion Guo Dandan and swimming world champion Zhao Jing were named the official brand ambassadors to promote nationwide the fitness programme, Xinhua news agency reported.
The festival, which will feature 30 km professional group walking, 15 km amateur group walking and 5 km family group walking, will attract about 10,000 walkers from China and all across the globe, including a number of Olympic champions, the organisers added.
