Chinese president meets Kuomintang honorary head

Chinese President Xi Jinping, who is also the general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, met with Kuomintang Honorary Chairman Lien Chan in Beijing Tuesday afternoon.

Also present at the meeting in the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse here was a delegation from Taiwan comprising representatives from different walks of life, Xinhua reported.

Lien, also chairman of a foundation on cross-Taiwan Strait peaceful development, is on a visit to Beijing from Monday to Thursday.
