Delhi government approves Rs 1,250 cr worth projects

The Delhi government has approved projects worth Rs 1,250 crore including 94 polyclinics, five bus depots and 2,500 new beds in city government hospitals, an official said on Thursday.

The decision was taken in an Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC) meeting chaired by Finance Minister Manish Sisodia here on Wednesday, a Delhi government spokesperson told IANS.

The five bus depots put together can accommodate 895 buses and would cost about Rs 135 crore.

In the health sector, the EFC gave approval for a total of 101 projects.

The 2,579 new beds were approved for seven government hospitals including Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital, Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital, Rao Tula Ram Memorial Hospital, Acharya Shree Bhikshu Hospital, Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital, GTB Hospital and Bhagwan Mahavir Hospital.

 

The 94 new polyclinics would come up at a cost of Rs 170.3 crore.
