A court here has granted bail to four persons accused in the petroleum ministry documents leak case, court sources said on Tuesday.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sanjay Khanagwal on Friday granted bail to Lalta Prasad and Rakesh Kumar, both brothers and residents of Delhi, Ghaziabad resident Rajkumar Chaubey, and government employees Asharam and asked them to furnish personal bonds of Rs.50,000 each and surety of like amount.

The court released them on bail on the ground of parity observing that other accused were out on bail.

Police filed the chargesheet in the case last month and formally charged 13 people under various sections dealing with cheating, forgery, trespass, theft, common intent and criminal conspiracy.

The other nine accused, including five corporate executives and former journalist Santanu Saikia, are out on bail.

Delhi Police had registered a first information report about the leak of classified documents related to various ministries, including those of petroleum and natural gas ministry, on February 17.
