French Health Minister Marisol Touraine Monday said a UN worker being treated for Ebola in Paris was in stable condition.

Speaking to France Inter radio, Touraine said the worker, who was being treated in Paris at the request of the World Health Organization (WHO), was receiving the best possible care, Xinhua reported.

"If the medical team deems it necessary to use experimental treatments, it will also be possible," she added.

On Sunday, the UN employee was taken to France from Sierra Leone aboard a specially-equipped jet and placed in isolation at a military hospital in an eastern Paris suburb.

The patient is the second Ebola case to have received treatment in France since the epidemic erupted in March in West Africa.
