EC to show-cause Trinamool leader Anubrata Mondal again

Ahead of the second phase of the West Bengal assembly polls, the Election Commission has decided to issue show-cause notice to Trinamool Congress leader Anubrata Mondal, a day after he was censured by the watchdog, an official said on Wednesday.

The poll watchdog had earlier showcaused Mondal and on Wednesday admonished (censured) the leader following "utterances" against a BJP woman candidate.

Due to a fresh set of comments which were in violation of the model code of conduct, EC officials are set to issue a fresh show-cause notice, an official said.
