Former Sarpanch killed by gunmen in Pulwama district

Police on Monday recovered the body of a former village head -- Sarpanch, who had been kidnapped and later killed by gunmen in south Kashmir's Pulwama district.

Police said some unidentified gunmen forced their entry into the house of a former Sarpanch, Fayaz Ahmad Dar, in Kakapora area of Pulwama district in the morning.

"He was forced to accompany the gunmen," police said.

The bullet-ridden body of the former village head was found in Chewa Kalan village of Pulwama district, they added.
