Fugitive Khalistani militant held in Delhi

A 53-year-old fugitive militant of the (KCF) involved in over 50 terrorist activities and who wanted to reconstitute his group was arrested here, police said on Wednesday.

Gursewak alias was arrested by the Crime Branch on a tip off on Tuesday night when he came to meet a contact at the (ISBT), of said.

A resident of Punjab, Gursewak was involved in more than 50 cases of terrorist activities, murders of police officers, and robberies in Punjab, and Madhya Pradesh, the said.

He was lodged in jail for over 26 years in different cases. He escaped twice from police custody in and Rajasthan, the said.

It was found that he was in regular touch with some Pakistan-based Khalistani militants, added.

"Gursewak was planning to re-constitute his organization on the instructions of the KCF based in and was in touch with other militants lodged in jails in India," he said.
