Heavy rains lash Agra

A heavy downpour lashed Agra on Wednesday afternoon, ending a hot and humid spell that had made life unbearable for a week.

At the Taj Mahal, tourists scurried for shelter as most of them were not carrying umbrellas.

"The showers helped wash all the dust on the Taj, and it is now dazzling white," said tourist guide Ved Gautam.

The weather office has forecast more rains the next two days.
