Three-time Brazilian Serie A winners Internacional have signed Uruguayan Diego Aguirre as their coach for the 2015 football season.
Internacional's statement on their official website Monday came a week after Abel Braga quit the Brazilian club despite having guided them to third in the country's Serie A championship this year, reports Xinhua.
Aguirre, who represented Internacional as a player in 1989 and 1990, has not coached since leaving Qatar's Al-Rayyan in 2013.
His record includes spells in charge of Uruguay's under-20 team, Penarol and Alianza Lima.
