Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe Monday named successors to the trade and justice ministers who resigned from their posts earlier in the day.
For the trade minister's post, politician Yoichi Miyazawa was appointed to replace Yuko Obuchi, Xinhua reported.
Abe also decided to name Minister of State for Gender Equality and Social Affairs , Yoko Kamikawa, as justice minister to replace Midori Matsushima.
Obuchi and Matsushima, who stepped down due to political funds scandal, took office as cabinet ministers in early September when Abe reshuffled his cabinet.
Abe said the appointment of Obuchi and Matsushima was his responsibility.
Appointments of women ministers were seen as efforts to walk the talk about his 'womenomics' that aimed to give a boost to the women workforce in Japan to revitalise the country's sluggish economy.
