Lightning kills five in Jharkhand

Five people were killed and two others injured when they were struck by lightning in Jharkhand Thursday, police said.

Three people died on the outskirts of state capital Ranchi while one each was killed in Deoghar and Khuti districts, they said.

Those killed in Ranchi were construction workers, a police officer said, adding that two people were also injured in the lightening.

Every year over 50 people die due to lightening in the state.
