Ma cruises into world table tennis singles final

Top-seeded Ma Long overpowered fellow Chinese Fan Zhendong in five sets to reach the men's singles final at the World Table Tennis Championships here on Sunday.

Ma, bidding for his first singles title at the world championships, was dominant with an aggressive topspin play and cleverly-placed shots, winning over the Youth Olympics winner, 11-1, 11-7, 11-8, 7-11, 11-5, reports Xinhua.

Zhang Jike takes on Fang Bo in the other all-Chinese semi-final.
