Malaysia hold Iraq 1-1 in AFC U-16 Championship

Aliff Haiqal's stunning late equaliser saw Malaysia claim a 1-1 draw with Iraq in Group C of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-16 Championship here on Monday.

Iraq dominated the first half at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and took a deserved lead three minutes before half-time through Mohammed Ridha.

Iraq missed a great chance to increase their lead when Muntadher Mohammed missed from a penalty in 57th minute.

Malaysia had struggled to create chances in the second period but Haiqal's blistering strike on the 85th minute made the score line 1-1.
