Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday congratulated the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers over the party's victories in various by-polls across the country.
He attributed the good performance of the party and its allies to the politcs of development and good governance.
The BJP won five of the 10 seats across eight states that witnessed by-polls.
"Impressive performance by @BJP4India and NDA in the by-polls in different parts of the country. Congratulations to Karyakartas (workers)," Modi wrote in Twitter.
"I thank the people for the constant support, blessings and unwavering faith in politics of development and good governance," he added.

The BJP also won the assembly by-poll at Rajouri Garden seat in Delhi with a huge margin, while Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate forfeited his security. The BJP now has four MLAs in the Delhi assembly.
