The Narendra Modi-led central government is to be condemned for imposing Hindi through new currency notes after putting the entire population into trouble by demonetising Rs 500 and 1,000 notes, said PMK leader S.Ramadoss on Saturday.

In a statement issued here, Ramadoss, who welcomed the demonetisation move to fight black money, said the central government has printed the new Rs 500 and 2,000 rupee notes with denominations printed in Devanagiri script, while the new currency sports slogan about the government's Swachh Bharat Abiyan scheme.

Terming the government's move against the Constitution, he added that though the currency notes are printed by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the Hindi wording about a central government scheme is irrelevant in currency note and sho's the government'ss influence.
