Munim fails in finals, Gohaad, Dhanya emerge winners in AITA tennis meet

Deep Munim of Madhya Pradesh failed to replicate his good showing in the finals of the boys singles U-14 and U-16 categories, losing to Arjun Gohaad and Dhanya K. Shah respectively in the Sunfeast AITA Super Series Junior tennis tournament here on Friday.

Munim lost to Maharashtra's Gohaad 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 in the U-14 category while Dhanya K. Shah outsmarted him 6-0, 5-7, 6-2 in the U-16 event.

Meanwhile, Karthika Vijay pummelled Renee Singh of Rajasthan 6-0, 6-3 in the girls singles U-14 category to be crowned champion. In the girls U-16 event, Mubashera Anjum Shaik beat Sanya Singh 6-1, 6-4.

 

Mubashera combined with Mushrat Anjum Shaik to clinch the girls doubles U-16 title as well, defeating Sanya AND Pari Singh 6-3, 6-4.

In the boys doubles U-16, Kartik Saxena and Dhanya K. Shah emerged victorious downing Manav V. Jain and Kritanta Sarma 6-4, 6-1.
