Newborns rescued from traffickers in China

Police have rescued twin newborn baby girls allegedly sold to human traffickers by a doctor in China's Shaanxi province, authorities said Thursday.
The twins, born in July to a woman in Fuping county, were rescued from neighbouring Shanxi province and eastern Shandong province respectively, Xinhua cited the Shaanxi provincial government as saying.
Another newborn boy was rescued Sunday. He was also allegedly sold to human traffickers by the same doctor, who worked in Fuping County Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital.
Till Thursday, police received reports of 55 similar cases, including 26 cases in which Zhang was allegedly involved. Police have launched investigations into five of the reported cases.
