Nine killed in Beirut explosion

At least nine people were killed and over 35 got injured when a booby-trapped car exploded in the suburbs here Thursday, Xinhua reported.

The incident occurred when the car, filled with around 50 kg of explosives, went off in the Bir el Abd area in the Lebanon capital, a security source said.
