London, Nov 25 (IANS/EFE) A nearly complete skeleton of an Allosaurus dinosaur, about 155 million years old, was left on Wednesday without a buyer at an auction in Britain.
The auction house expected to sell the fossil for between 300,000 and 500,000 pounds sterling (from $453,246 to 755,410), but no offers came above the reserve price.
The remains belong to a young specimen of Allosaurus, one of the largest predators to have existed on earth which could reach a height of eight metres (over 26 feet) at adulthood.
The fossil was found in a quarry in Wyoming, United States and still has its jaw with several teeth attached.
