English Premier League side Norwich sacked manager Chris Hughton and appointed youth coach Neil Adams as his successor.
Norwich lost 0-1 to West Brom Saturday and are just five points clear of the relegation zone with five games remaining. They will face Fulham, Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal in the remaining matches, reports Xinhua.
The club said in a statement Sunday: "The decision has been taken to give the club the maximum chance of survival."
Hughton, 55, who managed Newcastle United and Birmingham City, led the Canaries to 11th last season but lost four of their last six league games and scored just 26 goals all season.
The 48-year-old Adams made more than 200 appearances for Norwich in the 1990s but has no first-team managerial experience.
"These final five games will be a huge test for us, and everyone must step up to the mark. But with the full backing of these magnificent Norwich supporters we will have every chance of achieving our objective," said Adams.
