The poem, written specially for Korea, is hand-embroidered in English and Korean.

The text of Tagore's poem that was published in 1929 in the Korean daily Dong-A Ilbo is:

In the golden age of Asia

Korea was one of its lamp bearers

And that lamp is waiting

To be lighted once again

For the illumination of the East

Modi reached Seoul on Monday on a two-day visit on the last leg of his three-nation tour which also took him to China and Mongolia.

He addressed the Indian community in Seoul after which he was accorded a ceremonial welcome by Park.
