Rajnath congratulates Kumaraswamy

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh became the first BJP leader to congratulate JD-S leader H.D. Kumaraswamy and Congress's G. Parameshwar, who were on Wednesday sworn-in as Karnataka's Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister respectively.

"Congratulations to H.D. Kumaraswamy and G. Parameshwar on taking oath as the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka. I hope, Karnataka will move forward towards peace, progress and prosperity under the new government," he said in a tweet.

The Home Minister's wishes comes amid Bharatiya Janata Party's state unit staging protest across Karnataka against the formation of the Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S)-Congress coalition government.
