About 95 per cent of construction work at Rio de Janeiro's two major Olympic venue clusters has been concluded, the official Agencia Brasil news service said.
Six venues have been completed: Future Arena (handball and goalball), the international broadcast centre, the golf course, the mountain bike track, the BMX track and the canoe slalom course, Xinhua cited the report as saying on Monday.
The venues are located at Olympic Park and Deodoro Park, both in Rio's west.
Olympic Park will host 16 Olympic and nine Paralympic events. Among the most advanced venues at the complex are the Carioca 3 (98 per cent) and Carioca 2 (97 per cent) arenas while the velodrome is only 76 per cent ready.
The aquatic venue is "practically finished, needing only some final touches," while the the tennis centre is about 90 per cent finished, the government-backed service said.
At Deodoro, the hockey centre is 99 per cent ready while the Youth Arena is just 75 per cent complete.
Deodoro will host 11 Olympic and four Paralympic events.
