In a reshuffle in the Delhi cabinet on Thursday, Health and Transport Minister Satyendra Jain was given additional charge of the Urban Development department.
"Satyendra Jain gets charge of Delhi government's urban development department," the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) tweeted.
The urban development department formulates policy, provides funds, monitors and coordinates the activities of the urban local bodies, which include the Municipal Corporations of Delhi, the New Delhi Municipal Council, Delhi Jal Board and trans-Yamuna Area Development Board.
So far, the department was with Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.
Earlier, Jain was also given the charge of transport ministry from Gopal Rai after the latter stepped down "due to health reasons".
