Government Model High School from Chandigarh defeated Manipur's Nilmani English School 1-0 to enter the semi-finals of the Under-14 category of the 55th Subroto Cup International Football Tournament at the Ambedkar stadium Friday.
S. Sanjeev scored the game-clinching goal for the Chandigarh side.
In another quarter-final, Bangladesh Kidha Siksha Pratisthan (BKSP) won against Khrumdiengei Secondary School from Meghalaya 5-4 on penalties to advance to the last eighth stage. The match was goalless after extra time.
The Under-17 girls category of the tournament begins Saturday with the final scheduled for Oct 10.
