Chronology of events leading to conviction of Congress leader Sajjan Kumar in a 1984 anti-Sikh riots case by the Delhi High Court on Monday:
October 31 1984: Then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi assassinated. Anti-Sikh riots break out, particularly in Delhi.
2005: Justice G.T. Nanavati Commission recommends investigation in case against Sajjan Kumar.
October 24, 2005: Home Ministry directs CBI to investigate cases against Sajjan Kumar.
January 13, 2010: CBI files chargesheet including against Sajjan Kumar in the killing of five Sikhs in south Delhi.
