Tribal leader appointed Jharkhand BJP chief

Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah on Tuesday appointed tribal leader Tala Marandi as president of the party's Jharkhand unit.
"Shah has given clearance Tala Marandi's name as president of Jharkhand BJP with immediate effect," a party statement said. Marandi replaces Rabindra Rai.
Marandi, a two-term legislator, represents Borio constituency in Sahibganj district, which was earlier part of Santhal Pargana district in undivided Bihar.
