Two women committed suicide in two separate incidents here Saturday.
Police said Jyoti (26) hanged herself after an altercation with her husband Yogesh in Rahul Vihar Phase II locality. Yogesh tried to save her but his efforts went in vain. Police have sent the body for autopsy.
The second incident occurred in Rajdhani Enclave in Loni where Rinki (27), wife of Mahavir, set herself and her one-year-old son on fire. Both mother and son succumbed to their injuries.
Rinki also had an altercation with her husband Saturday morning. In a fit of rage, she poured petrol on herself after placing her son on her lap and lit a matchstick. People living nearby tried to save them but failed. They then informed the police who sent the bodies for autopsy.
