Youth dies in Army firing in Kashmir, police case filed

A young man was shot dead on Friday by the Army during a stone-pelting protest in Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam district, leading to a police case against the Army unit, officials said.
Tanveer Ahmad Pala was hit by a bullet when Rashtriya Rifles attempted to disperse a mob in Beerwah town, police sources said. Pala was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Another youth was injured in the incident but doctors said his condition was stable.
Police said a First Information Report (FIR) had been filed against the Army unit over Pala's death.
