Youth held for sexually assaulting minor girl

A 27-year-old youth was arrested for sexually assaulting a minor girl here, a police officer said on Monday.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jasmeet Singh, the incident ocurred on Sunday night.

The victim, 10, later informed her mother that a youth staying in the neighbourhood -- identified as Rohit Shrivastava -- sexually assaulted her at his residence, in New Ashok Nagar of the national capital.

"The accused was arrested from his residence. He had also threatened the victim that he would kill her if she disclosed his crime to anyone," DCP Singh said.
