Airport for prez home town

Former president APJ Abdul Kalam’s signature gesture was to hike the pension of Field Marshals of the defence forces. The current President, Pratibha Patil, also has a dream to ensure an airport for Amaravati, her home and her former parliamentary constituency. Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel has worn the flagstones of Rashtrapati Bhavan down, walking there in response to the president’s desire to see an airport in the town. Officials are trying to see how this can be done.
