BJP wisens up, sends Advani

Public outpouring at the death of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajshekhara Reddy made the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) review its decision to send M Venkaiah Naidu for the funeral. It was late in the night that the party decided to send LK Advani for what turned out to be the most-attended last rites of a leader in recent times. Advani’s presence at the funeral was aimed at empathising with people in a state where BJP is struggling to find its feet.
