The anti-corruption movement seems to have had its impact on the country's top drug regulator as well. The Drugs Controller General of India, whose mandate is to keep a tab on the quality and efficacy of medicines available in the country, has begun monitoring movements around his office, after installing CCTV cameras in his office premises because he suspects foul play. If only that would convince the US Food and Drug Administration not to censure Indian companies for their poor manufacturing practices.
