Karunanidhi veto

One of the main reasons why the prime minister failed to carry out the widely expected reshuffle of his team was the virtual veto of the DMK boss and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M Karunanidhi, against the transfer of A Raja from the telecom ministry. Karunanidhi argued that moving Raja out of telecom would lend further weight to arch-rival J Jayalalithaa’s campaign of massive corruption in the telecom ministry.
