No time for diplomacy

Events in Nepal may call for some hectic diplomacy, but External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee has no time for it. So, when Pushpa Kumar Dahal (Prachanda) resigned as Nepal’s prime minister and cited India’s heavy hand in the region, Mukherjee did not speak to any of Nepal’s leaders. Instead, it was left to Foreign Secretary Shiv Shankar Menon to prepare reports on the matter for the government.
