Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki has emphasized multi-checking modality and effective monitoring mechanism for check of revenue pilferage in the state.
Congratulating the Tax and Excise department during a review meeting here yesterday for recording a good percentage of revenue collection last year which stood at around 443 Crore, Tuki expected that the department would exceed the set target of the current year with surplus revenue collection.
At the same time he issued strictures to the department to initiate appropriate measures to check revenue leakage apart from penalizing the defaulters and taking actions against malpracticing officials in the department, official sources said today.

Utmost care has to be taken to ensure that revenue collection for the state which is the backbone of its economy is channelized and revitalized, Tuki asserted.
He suggested for putting in place multi-checking system in the business points and check gates and also opined for regular shuffling of the officials posted there.
Referring to the levying of Professional Tax and Luxury Tax in the state, the chief minister asked the department to place the proposal in a bill form in the ensuing Assembly session in September next.
Chief Secretary Hari Krishna while taking part in the discussion disclosed that the DCs in the districts have been sounded to gear up to augment revenue collection and contain the revenue leakages in their respective districts.
He set a target of 788 crore for revenue collection for the current year and asked the department to put their entire effort and energy to realize it.
