With the ruling Congress in Andhra Pradesh facing renewed heat on Telangana issue, besides internal troubles, BJP today threw its weight behind the demand to carve out the new state, eyeing the next assembly and Lok Sabha polls.
Senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu cautioned Congress against playing with sentiments of people of Andhra Pradesh on the issue, while speaking to reporters here.
"Do not play with the sentiments of the people of Andhra Pradesh... You have already delayed it. You have promised the people in the election manifesto", he said and took exception to Congress leaving the vexed issue to its party President Sonia Gandhi.

The BJP leader lashed out at those who criticised the Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's visit to flood ravaged Uttarkhand and questioned the visit by Rahul Gandhi and other leaders.
He termed as "atrocious" Britain's move to execute a 3,000 UK pound bonds for those wishing to study in the UK.
