With ever-increasing prices, energy scarcity and environment impact, energy efficiency has reached the top of CEO's agendas. Schneider Electric, a Global specialist in energy management, has embarked on a nationwide programme to sensitize the country's top industrial as well as business houses on the benefits of energy efficiency and the ways to achieve them.

It also needs to cut CO2 emissions by two in order to avoid dramatic climatic changes. By becoming energy efficient we can save up to 30% energy, which in turn will help cut down future energy requirements and help bring down the CO2 emissions." |
Stressing the need for energy efficiency, Mr. Chaitanya Kalia, Partner, E&Y India, said, "The available energy sources (oil & gas) are only sufficient to cover the global needs until sometimes after 2030. Energy Efficiency is perhaps the biggest source of energy for the future."
Achieving energy efficiency requires energy audits, energy efficiency enabling products and energy management solutions. These solutions apply to residential, commercial and industrial buildings & processes which account for nearly 72% of total energy consumption. Through the use of Schneider Electric solutions up to 30% energy saving is possible. The other benefits of having an energy efficient business model include, greater cost savings, increased revenues, branding as a green company and greater worldwide acceptability.
The day-long forums which have already happened in Delhi & Chennai have been attended by top officials of leading corporate and consulting houses like Tatas, Honda, SAIL, GAIL etc.
IN 2007, Schneider Electric's energy efficiency business grew 15% to 3.6 Billion Euros.
